Description

The work is based on M. V. Gogol's story "The Night Before Christmas".

The composition originally presents the images of bright and colorful characters: the charming legendary Solokha, the romantic deacon Yosyp Nikiforovych and the cunning horned mythical puss.

The model was created by Rapai sculptor Olga Peretsivna in 1959. Anna Maksimivna's painting of Kaluga. The composition was in a small edition.

The work is reproduced from a model based on the author's work from 1959, which is kept in the "Kyiv Porcelain" museum.

Work is rare. Exhibited at numerous national exhibitions. International exhibitions: Marseille (France, 1959); Ottawa (Canada, 1959).
